Nokomis Beach is a wall fiber art sculpture measuring 13” x 10” which captures the essence of the sandy shoreline north of the jetty.  Carefully stitched layers,  are slashed so soft sea colors of layered fabric peek through. Actual broken sea shells, are each gathered then hand tied into natural silk that cascades gracefully over a piece of driftwood resting atop rolls of sea-colored woven linen. This meticulously stitched work of art embodies the harmony between organic elements found on southwest Florida’s gulf coast with how fiber can be sculptured.
